Tuesday at the 2025 WM Phoenix Open was a dream come true for more than 500 elementary school students, who swapped their classrooms for an unforgettable day at the R.S. Held at the TPC Scottsdale Champions Course practice range, these young golfers had the chance to hit shots, learn the game, and interact with some of Arizona’s most beloved athletes, entertainers, and community leaders.

Tuesday’s action continued with the San Tan Ford Special Olympics Putting Challenge, where PGA TOUR pros, Arizona icons, and community leaders joined forces with Special Olympics athletes in a 9-hole putting contest filled with excitement, camaraderie, and plenty of smiles.

And to make the day even sweeter, all fans in attendance enjoyed free admission, courtesy of Ford Free Days and Arizona Ford Dealers.

The top-notch field for the 90th edition of “The People’s Open” continues to take shape as a host of highly-ranked golfers are among the latest to commit to play in the 2025 WM Phoenix Open, ready to tee it up February 3-9 at TPC Scottsdale.  Those joining the field include World No. 20 Sepp Straka, three-time PGA TOUR winner Tom Kim (24th), Major Champion Brian Harman (33rd), 2021-22 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year Cameron Young (45th), and 2022 U.S. Open champ Matt Fitzpatrick (48th).

“With each new commitment the field for the 90th edition of ‘The People’s Open’ continues to get stronger,” said 2025 Tournament Chairman Matt Mooney. “This year’s lineup is already packed with Major champions, past winners, and some of the biggest rising stars in the game, shaping up to be one of the most competitive fields we’ve seen at TPC Scottsdale.”

Straka has hit the ground running in 2025 with a recent win at The American Express at PGA West. He currently holds the No. 2 spot in the FedExCup standings and ranks 20th in the Official World Golf Ranking. Straka qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs for the sixth straight season in 2024, finishing T27 after making his third consecutive TOUR Championship appearance. Recording four top-10s and made 17 cuts in 24 starts, his impressive 2024 play led to him representing Austria in the Men’s Golf Competition at the 2024 Olympics in Paris where he finished T35. Straka makes his fourth appearance at the WM Phoenix Open.

Kim has quickly made his mark in professional golf, capturing three titles in just three years on TOUR. He became the first player since Tiger Woods to win twice before turning 21, solidifying his status as one of golf’s brightest young talents. The South Korean standout delivered a strong 2024 season highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Travelers Championship, two Top-10s, and 15 Top-25s. Kim returns for his third consecutive appearance at the WM Phoenix Open coming off his T17 in 2024.

The win secured him a spot on the 2023 U.S. Ryder Cup team, marking his first appearance in the event during his 13-year PGA TOUR career. In 2024, Harman delivered a solid season, finishing 31st in the FedExCup Rankings, highlighted by a runner-up finish at THE PLAYERS Championship, three Top-10s, and 12 Top-25s in 23 starts. His play also earned him a place on the 2024 U.S. Presidents Cup team. He returns to TPC Scottsdale for his 13th appearance, with his best outing a T14 finish in 2022.

Young had a strong 2024 campaign, recording six Top-10 finishes, including a runner-up showing at the Valspar Championship and a T9 at the Masters. He qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs for the third straight season, finishing 44th in the standings after advancing to the BMW Championship. Young returns for his fourth WM Phoenix Open appearance, looking to build on his best finish -a solo eighth place – at last year’s event.

Fitzpatrick has built an impressive resume with two PGA TOUR victories and nine DP World Tour titles over his 11-year professional career, punctuated by his breakthrough win at the 2022 U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline. In 2024, the Englishman recorded three Top-10s, including a solo fifth-place finish at THE PLAYERS Championship, and made 17 cuts in 21 starts. He also qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs for the fifth straight season, finishing 40th in the standings after reaching the BMW Championship. His strong play also earned him the opportunity to represent England at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. A three-time European Ryder Cup team member (2016, 2021, 2023), Fitzpatrick returns for his fourth appearance at the WM Phoenix Open.

The field now currently includes 15 of the Top-30 and 3 of the Top-50 ranked players in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), along with seven Major champions, and five WM Phoenix Open champions. The five former champs in the field include Nick Taylor (2024), Scottie Scheffler (2022, 2023), Rickie Fowler (2019), Gary Woodland (2018), and Hideki Matsuyama (2016, 2017).
