An Interview with PGA TOUR Veteran Charley Hoffman

What’s it like going from 20-year PGA TOUR veteran to third-grade teacher? Charley Hoffman, Waste Management brand ambassador and four-time winner on the PGA TOUR had enough time on his hands to sit down with 2021 Waste Management Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman Scott Jenkins for a virtual chat. On the list of topics was the state of his golf game coming out of quarantine and some of the unique challenges we’re all facing these days.

“I’m glad I’m good at golf,” said Hoffman when asked about how he fared as an elementary school instructor. “I’m a four or five (out of 10) at best.”

Hoffman and Jenkins discussed everything from Charley’s most memorable PGA TOUR memory, what it’s like playing without fans, what it’s like being at the center of attention at the famed 16th hole coliseum at TPC Scottsdale, and of course, his relationship with Waste Management.
