Wednesday Kicks Things Off at the Waste Management Phoenix Open with “The People’s Day at the People’s Open”

After an extremely long wait, the highly anticipated sporting event of the season – the Waste Management Phoenix Open – is back and will open the gates tomorrow to the public for the ever-popular and celebrity filled Annexus Pro-Am. The limited spectators in attendance will get a glimpse of the PGA TOUR’s best alongside some of the most recognizable figures in sports and entertainment, featuring Arizona Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald, the most decorated Olympian of all time Michael Phelps, Phoenix Suns’ All-Star Dan Majerle and a score of other ballplayers, community leaders and stars from the entertainment world.

The Thunderbirds – hosts of the WM Phoenix Open – have added additional spectacle to the normally fun-filled Wednesday, declaring it  “The People’s Day at The People’s Open”, meaning anyone with a general admission ticket to Wednesday’s Annexus Pro-Am will have access to the iconic 16th hole, normally reserved for hospitality package holders.

“Waste Management Phoenix Open fans are some of the greatest fans in all of golf,” said Scott Jenkins, 2021 WM Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman. “We are very excited to provide a special opportunity for our fans to experience the iconic 16th hole in a socially distanced and responsible way.”

Tee times for the Annexus Pro-Am begin at 8:30. Some of the notable celebrity tee times include comedian Rob Riggle at 8:30, Larry Fitzgerald at 9 AM, Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson at 9:20, former Arizona Diamondbacks flamethrower Archie Bradley at 9:40, country music star Darius Rucker at 10 AM and Michael Phelps at 10:30 AM.

Don’t forget to stick around for the Phoenix Suns Charities Shot at Glory which pits celebrities and rock stars against each other at the famed 16th hole in a closest-to-the-pin contest for charity. Anyone who cards an ace during the event wins $1 million towards a charity of their choice.
