RICKIE FOWLER, MAX HOMA AND SAM BURNS LATEST TO JOIN FIELD FOR 2025 WM PHOENIX OPEN

Tournament Chairman Matt Mooney announced today three new player commitments to the 2025 WM Phoenix Open field. Former WM Phoenix Open champion Rickie Fowler, six-time PGA TOUR winner Max Homa and World No. 22 Sam Burns will tee it up at TPC Scottsdale February 3-9 for the 90th playing of “The People’s Open.”

“We’re obviously extremely excited to see Rickie, Max and Sam back at ‘The People’s Open’,” Mooney said. “All of these guys are among not only the best players in the world but also are some of the greatest ambassadors of the sport. We can’t wait to see them compete at TPC Scottsdale in February.”

Fowler, a six-time PGA TOUR winner and fan favorite, remains one of the most recognized names in professional golf. Fowler reclaimed the spotlight in 2023 with a victory at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, marking his first win since capturing the 2019 WM Phoenix Open title. Over his 16 appearances at the WM Phoenix Open, Fowler has demonstrated consistent success highlighted by one win, two runner-up finishes, a fourth-place showing, and seven Top 25 finishes. With career earnings of $3.7 million at the event, he ranks among the Top-3 all-time money winners in tournament history. Fowler has represented the United States on five Ryder Cup teams (2010, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2023) and three Presidents Cup teams (2015, 2017, 2019).

Homa has firmly established himself as one of the premier players on the PGA TOUR, with six career victories since his debut in 2013. Among his standout achievements is his triumph at the 2021 Genesis Invitational, where he captured his first title at Riviera Country Club. A Scottsdale resident, Homa delivered a strong 2024 season, highlighted by three Top-10 finishes and a Top-50 placement in the FedExCup standings, earning him a spot on the 2024 U.S. Presidents Cup team. The 2025 WM Phoenix Open will mark his seventh appearance at the tournament, where his best result came in 2020 with a solo sixth-place finish.  He currently ranks 48th in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Burns has quickly become a rising star on the PGA TOUR, amassing an impressive resume that includes five career victories and a runner-up finish in just the last three years. Among his achievements is a 2023 World Golf Championship Dell Technologies Match Play victory and a successful title defense at the 2022 Valspar Championship. The 2025 WM Phoenix Open will mark his seventh appearance at “The People’s Open” where he has carded one Top-25 and two Top-10 finishes. He currently holds the No. 22 spot in the Official World Golf Ranking.
