Tournament Chairman Jason Eisenberg announced today that four of the PGA TOUR’s most accomplished and in-form players have committed to compete at TPC Scottsdale for the 2026 WM Phoenix Open, scheduled for February 2–8.

Reigning U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun (World No. 7), three-time PGA TOUR winner Ben Griffin (World No. 8), two-time major champion Collin Morikawa (World No. 18), and five-time PGA TOUR winner Sam Burns (World No. 27) are the latest additions to the field for the 91st edition of “The People’s Open.” With their commitments, the field now features 10 of the Top-20 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, seven former WM Phoenix Open champions, and 10 major championship winners.

Spaun authored a career-defining season in 2025, highlighted by his first major championship victory at the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club. In his ninth season on TOUR, Spaun advanced to the TOUR Championship for the first time and finished T25 in the final FedExCup standings. He recorded career-best totals in top-five finishes (five), top 10s (seven), and top 25s (14), while making 21 cuts in 25 starts. Spaun also posted three runner-up finishes during the season, earning one of six automatic qualifying spots to represent the United States at the Ryder Cup. The reigning U.S. Open champion will make his sixth appearance at TPC Scottsdale, where his best finish came in 2017 (T4).

Griffin has emerged as one of the PGA TOUR’s breakout stars, putting together a statement 2025 season highlighted by three victories and elite consistency. Griffin earned his first career PGA TOUR title at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans alongside partner Andrew Novak, before capturing individual wins at the Charles Schwab Challenge and the World Wide Technology Championship. He became one of just three players to record three or more TOUR victories during the season, joining Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.

The 28-year-old finished tied for 10th in the FedExCup standings, qualifying for the FedExCup Playoffs for the third consecutive year and advancing to the TOUR Championship for the first time in his career. Griffin recorded 12 Top-10 finishes and made 24 cuts in 30 starts, and capped his season with his first national team appearance after being selected as a captain’s pick for the 2025 Ryder Cup team. He will make his third appearance at “The People’s Open” in 2026.

Morikawa remains one of the most accomplished players of his generation, highlighted by major championship victories at the 2020 PGA Championship and the 2021 Open Championship. He qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs for the seventh consecutive season and advanced to the TOUR Championship for the sixth straight year, finishing tied for 19th in the final FedExCup standings. Morikawa recorded four top-10 finishes during the season, including runner-up performances at The Sentry and the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, while making 18 cuts in 21 starts. A proven performer on the global stage, Morikawa was selected as a captain’s pick to represent the United States at the Ryder Cup. He returns to the WM Phoenix Open for the first time since 2023, with his best finish coming in his tournament debut in 2021 (T25).

Burns has firmly established himself as one of the PGA TOUR’s most dynamic competitors, compiling five career victories and a growing list of high-profile finishes. His resume includes a World Golf Championships–Dell Technologies Match Play title and a successful title defense at the 2022 Valspar Championship. The LSU Tiger has qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs in seven consecutive seasons and advanced to the TOUR Championship each of the last five years, finishing tied for seventh in the FedExCup standings in 2025.

A regular contender at the WM Phoenix Open, Burns has produced multiple strong finishes at TPC Scottsdale, including a third-place finish in 2024 and a sixth-place showing in 2023. Burns will make his eighth appearance at “The People’s Open” in 2026.
