THUNDERBIRDS CHARITIES

Thunderbirds Charities, the charitable giving arm of The Thunderbirds, is a non-profit organization formed in 1986 to distribute monies raised through the WM Phoenix Open. Its mission is to support organizations that assist children and families, help people in need and improve the quality of life in the Greater Phoenix area. To date, The Thunderbirds and Thunderbirds Charities, with help from Title Sponsor WM, have raised more than $226 million for Arizona non-profit organizations.

The 2025 edition of “The People’s Open” raised a record-breaking $18.1 million for local charities — marking the highest single-year total in tournament history. This is the eighth time the tournament has surpassed the $10 million mark in charitable giving. The previous charity record was $17.5 million, set in 2024.
