Golden Tate, Reggie Bush, J.R. Smith, Shane Victorino and Josh Allen Slated to Appear in Annexus Pro-Am at the Waste Management Phoenix Open

Golden Tate, Reggie Bush, J.R. Smith, Shane Victorino and Josh Allen have been added to the list of star-studded celebrities from the sports and entertainment world who will be playing in the Annexus Pro-Am at the Waste Management Phoenix Open on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course.

Tee times for the Annexus Pro-Am will range from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Exact tee times for participants will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 29 on www.wmphoenixopen.com, along with a complete list of celebrities and PGA TOUR players in the field. Others currently in the field include Larry Fitzgerald, Archie Bradley, Shane Doan, Emmitt Smith, Dierks Bentley and Lorena Ochoa.

NFL wide receiver and former second-round pick and unanimous All-American out of Notre Dame University, Golden Tate has played for four NFL franchises including the Seattle Seahawks – where he won a Super Bowl in 2014 – the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants. During his nine-year NFL career, Tate has accrued 660 receptions for 7,890 yards and 44 touchdowns as well as a Pro Bowl nod in 2014. Tate will tee it up at the Annexus Pro-Am for the second time (2019).

Two-time All-American at USC and 11-year NFL veteran Reggie Bush will make his second appearance at the WM Phoenix Open’s Annexus Pro-Am (2018). Bush played for five NFL teams during his career, winning Super Bowl XLIV (2010) with the New Orleans Saints, was named a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2008 and was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 2019.

Also making his first appearance at the 2020 WM Phoenix Open is NBA shooting guard J.R. Smith who had a 13-year career with four teams (Hornets, Nuggets, Knicks, Cavaliers). Smith was part of the 2016 NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers and was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2013, given to the League’s best performing player for his team coming off the bench.

Shane, “The Flyin’ Hawaiian” Victorino had a 13-year MLB career, winning a World Series Championship with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 and again with the Boston Red Sox in 2013. During his career, Victorino won four Gold Glove Awards, three as the National League’s best center fielder for the Phillies from 2008-2010 and again in the American League in 2013 as a member of the Red Sox, was named to two National League All-Star teams (2009, 2011), accrued 231 stolen bases and twice led the National League in triples (2009, 2011). This will be Victorino’s first appearance at the Annexus Pro-Am.

First-round draft pick out of Wyoming and current Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is coming off a solid sophomore campaign in the NFL, leading his team to the NFL postseason where they lost in overtime in the wildcard round to the Houston Texans. Allen has 30 passing touchdowns and 17 rushing touchdowns in two years as a starter for the Bills and was the first NFL quarterback in history to rush for at least 95 yards in three consecutive games.

The 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open will be held at TPC Scottsdale January 27 – February 2, 2020. “The People’s Open” was recently named the Tournament of the Year by the PGA TOUR for 2019, an honor that has been awarded four times in the last six years (2014, 2015, 2018, 2019) to help the tournament gain legendary status for being one the most unique events in golf. The 2020 edition will mark the 85th playing of the event (one of the five oldest events on the PGA TOUR) and the 11th as the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
