Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton today joined The Thunderbirds, hosts of the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the PGA TOUR Wives Association to pack bags full of food for students at Nevitt Elementary School as part of the fourth annual “Blessings in a Backpack Day” – a nationwide effort to combat childhood hunger that was declared by the United States Conference of Mayors.

There have been a number of changes at the Phoenix Art Museum under the leadership of Amanda Cruz and her team, starting with the Teen Engagement Initiative, a program that offers a community alternative for safe programming for teenagers and a place to hang out and express themselves.
