WM PHOENIX OPEN NEWS INFO

WM Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman Jason Eisenberg announced today that two-time WM Phoenix Open champion and five-time major winner Brooks Koepka has officially committed to compete in the 2026 edition of “The People’s Open,” scheduled for Feb. 2–8 at TPC Scottsdale.

Koepka, a champion at the WM Phoenix Open in 2015 and 2021, officially returned to the PGA TOUR today under the TOUR’s Returning Member Program.  The program provides players who have met elite, performance-based criteria an alternative pathway back to the PGA TOUR while accepting significant and appropriate financial penalties.

TWO-TIME WM PHOENIX OPEN CHAMP BROOKS KOEPKA JOINS THE FIELD FOR THE 2026 EDITION OF “THE PEOPLE’S OPEN”

“Brooks Koepka is one of the most accomplished players of his generation, so to welcome a two-time WM Phoenix Open champion and five-time Major winner to the field speaks to the stature of this event and its ability to attract the best players in the world,” said 2026 WM Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman Jason Eisenberg. “We’re excited to welcome Brooks back to TPC Scottsdale and look forward to seeing him compete again at ‘The People’s Open.’”

A nine-time PGA TOUR winner, Koepka is one of the most successful players of the modern era, with victories across golf’s biggest stages. His five Major championships include back-to-back U.S. Open titles in 2017 and 2018 and back-to-back PGA Championships in 2018 and 2019, followed by a fifth major victory at the 2023 PGA Championship.

From 2017 through 2019, Koepka produced one of the greatest multi-year stretches in major championship play, recording wins or Top-5 finishes in six of 12 consecutive majors. During that period, he also won the 2018 CJ Cup, ascended to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, earned PGA of America Player of the Year honors in 2018 and 2019, was named PGA TOUR Player of the Year in 2018, and finished the 2019 season as the PGA TOUR’s leading money winner.

Koepka’s history at TPC Scottsdale includes his first career PGA TOUR victory at the 2015 WM Phoenix Open and a return to the winner’s circle in 2021, when he captured his second title with a final-round charge highlighted by a chip-in eagle on the par-4 17th hole. The 2026 WM Phoenix Open will mark Koepka’s sixth career appearance in the event.
