The Thunderbirds, hosts of the WM Phoenix Open, announced today former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, Jr. will be the featured guest for the WM Phoenix Open Tee-Off Luncheon on Wednesday, Dec. 3, on the diamond at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix.

“The Tee-Off Luncheon is our annual event that kicks off WM Phoenix Open season, brings together this great community, and allows us to showcase what’s new and exciting for the upcoming event,” said Tournament Chairman Jason Eisenberg. “We’re thrilled to welcome one of the Valley’s most beloved sports figures to the stage, where he’ll reflect on his journey in the NFL, talk about his achievements off the field and share personal stories of his experiences participating in WM Phoenix Open events throughout the years.”
A familiar face at the Annexus Pro-Am, Fitzgerald is an Honorary Thunderbird and is widely recognized for his notable accolades that include serving as a 12-time team captain, receiving the 2014 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award and the 2016 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, and being inducted into the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame.
Beyond football, Fitzgerald is a philanthropist, investor, and business leader. In 2005, he founded The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation, which creates opportunities for young people in underserved communities to learn and thrive in safe and healthy environments while also providing resources for individuals and families impacted by breast cancer. The 2026 WM Phoenix Open returns to TPC Scottsdale February 2–8, bringing back “The People’s Open” for its 91st edition.
