Coors Light Pro-Am Gets Things Started at the 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open

Day one of the 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open is in the books. Monday’s Coors Light Pro-Am featured a host of PGA TOUR professionals getting their practice rounds in alongside community leaders and VIPs during a sunny Monday afternoon. Curt Byrum’s group took top honors with a score of 52. Colt Knost’s team came in second four shots off the leader at 56, and Russell Henley’s fourball took third at 57. Don’t miss tomorrow’s action – with free admission thanks to Ford Free Days courtesy of your Arizona Ford Dealers – including the R.S. Hoyt Jr. Family Foundation Dream Day presented by PING beginning at 10 a.m. on the TPC Champions Course practice range. Fans on hand for Dream Day can join in on the fun and see a trick-shot golf show, junior golf instruction provided by The First Tee of Phoenix, other games, lunch and appearances from PGA TOUR professional Matthew Wolff, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley, Arizona Cardinals superstar receiver Larry Fitzgerald and Arizona Coyotes legend Shane Doan.

Tuesday also brings the San Tan Ford Special Olympics Putting Challenge where Special Olympians, celebrities, sports stars and business leaders from the Valley take part in a friendly competition. The event begins at 11 a.m. on TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course putting green. Rumor has it Fitz, Doaner and Archie will be on hand for that as well.

Finally, Operation shower will be back at TPC Scottsdale benefiting 33 military moms-to-be from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost presented by PRO EM located on the 18th hole. All of the moms being honored are either active duty themselves, or the spouse or partner of a deployed or active duty service member from local military bases and the Arizona National Guard and will receive Operation Shower’s signature “Shower In A Box” – a gift of high-quality products for mothers and babies that have been donated by companies including 4moms, United Through Reading, Playtex, Discover Financial Services and Kendra Scott.

The 2020 WM Phoenix Open field is set. Three Monday qualifier spots were decided via playoff today at McCormick Ranch Golf Club with Zack Sucher, Patrick Flavian and Alex Smalley taking the final three spots in the 2020 WM Phoenix Open field.
