Whether you’re sitting in a luxurious skybox on the famous 16th (12 new skyboxes have been added) or on a hillside overlooking the 8th hole, there are a million great places to hang out at The Open.

Thanks to the TPC Scottsdale’s fan-friendly design, fans don’t have to travel very far for a great view of the action. In fact, many fans prefer the ease and convenience of grabbing a seat on the hillside overlooking the 18th green, located not far from the tournament entrance. Other golf fans enjoy the less-crowded feel of holes 4 through 8 on the front nine and holes 12 through 15 on the back nine.

This year, tournament officials have added two new venues offering both public access and great views of the action unfolding at TPC Scottsdale. Located across the lake from the 18th fairway, The Fry’s 19th Hole on the Water will be a fantastic place to watch golf, grab a beverage and enjoy some great food from Fry’s Food and Drug Stores and Garcia’s Mexican Restaurants. Additionally, public-access bleachers have been added behind the 10th tee for fans to catch the pros teeing off. Bleachers have also been added across the lake from the 17th green, providing a great view of the 17th green and 18th tee.

For golf tournament first-timers, there are basically two ways to watch a golf event. “Parade Style,” where you pick a spot and watch the field pass by or “Cross-Country Style,” where you follow a particular player or group around the course. If you plan on watching the tournament “Parade Style,” you’re encouraged to get to the tournament early to get the best and most popular viewing locations – especially if you’d like to grab a grandstand seat on hole 16.

Thursday through Sunday groups are simultaneously started on the first and 10th tees. Most people like to watch the action on the back nine, which may give you the opportunity to get a better view of the players on the front nine. If watching golf is not your cup of tea, the Waste Management Phoenix Open offers many great social and networking venues, including the Greenskeeper Tent and the Fairmont Clubhouse patio.

The ever-popular Greenskeeper package has been a big hit with Valley golf fans for many years. Situated in the “heart” of the Open, the main Greenskeeper Tent provides a relaxed atmosphere and an opportunity to discuss business or share a few laughs with clients, business associates or friends. The additional “Greenskeeper II” tent located on the hill overlooking the 18th fairway is a great place to enjoy “The Greatest Show on Grass.”

The Fairmont Clubhouse overlooks one of the most dramatic finishing holes in all of golf; the TPC Scottsdale Clubhouse and adjacent patio afford fans of the Open a glorious setting. Catered buffet luncheons and open bars provided by the Fairmont Scottsdale make this exclusive package one of the most popular.

For those fans who’d like to go anywhere, there’s the Chairman’s Club badge. One ticket, seven venues, good all week long. The Waste Management Phoenix Open’s Chairman’s Club badge is the ultimate way to experience The Greatest Show on Grass. Party in the Greenskeeper Tent, catch some golf action at the Members Club, indulge in the Clubhouse, seal a deal in Corporate Village, cheer your #$%* off in a Skybox and get your groove on at the Birds Nest. Short of wearing a blue velvet tunic (as the tournament host Thunderbirds do), there’s simply no better way to enjoy the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Regardless of your golf knowledge or age, there’s a great spot for you to catch the action at this year’s Waste Management Phoenix Open.

The Waste Management Phoenix Open has raised more than $70 million for charities, with more than $41 million generated in just the last seven years alone. Annually sporting by far the largest crowds for any golfing event in the world, the Waste Management Phoenix Open has gained legendary status for being a unique stop on the PGA TOUR.
