The Waste Management Phoenix Open’s GREEN OUT on Saturday, February 5th raised $35,000 for Arizona Clean & Beautiful. According to the Waste Management Phoenix Open’s ‘Green Squad’ more than 1/3 of Saturday’s 131,627 fans donned green gear.
“We’d like thank all the fans, players, caddies and sponsors who wore green on Saturday,” said 2011 Waste Management Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman Mike McQuaid. “We’re hoping to make this Green Out an annual event and continue to raise awareness of the green/eco-sensitive efforts of the tournament. The Thunderbirds are excited to have raised $35,000 for Arizona Clean & Beautiful.”
For every person who wore GREEN on Saturday, February 5th, the tournament host Thunderbirds donated ‘green’ to Arizona Clean & Beautiful – a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to preserving, maintaining and enhancing the beauty and environmental quality of Arizona. A Green Squad was on hand to count all things green.
The 2011 Waste Management Phoenix Open played January 31 – February 7, 2011 at the TPC Scottsdale.
